Justis news
Irish double whammy
Justis Publishing is exclusively extending its coverage of the Irish Reports by 81 years, all the way back to 1838. It also becomes the first publisher to offer the authoritative case reports as printable PDFs that replicate original pagination.
“Going back to 1838 will add substantial value to the service and the PDFs will clearly make the court bundling process much, much easier for all concerned”, said Justis’s David Finch, who has personally pursued the project for quite some time.
The arrangement with the Incorporated Council of Law Reporting for Ireland comes as some relief for him. “It’s taken a lot of hard work, particularly on the part of Masoud Gerami, our MD, and Jonathan Daymond, Sales and Marketing Director, to conclude the negotiations with the Irish Council”, he added. “But we were determined to go about things in the proper manner and make sure everything was done correctly”.
With so much to add, the process of uploading the extended archive is no mean feat. But progress has been quick, with material as far back as 1895 almost in place, while PDFs are already up and running for the current database. The full archive should be available before the summer is out.
David and Jonathan will be at the BIALL Conference later this week to demonstrate the enhanced database. They look forward to seeing you there.
