Justis news
Portland AALL blog
It’s Monday, the second and traditionally the busiest day of the AALL conference. But we’re in high spirits given the level of traffic and David’s successful debut as a conference speaker this morning.
We’ve had a constant stream of people visiting the stand. They’ve shown a lot of enthusiasm over our coverage, the online International Law Reports generating particular interest. This year’s event has seen an upturn in the number of delegates who are already familiar with the Justis portfolio of products, which is an indication of how much of an impact we’re having in the American market and of the endorsements it appears we’re getting at various conference seminars. It’s been good to see a lot of familiar faces here, with a number of British librarians popping over to see us as well as delegates who recognised us from previous conferences in the States and Canada.
Outside of the conference itself, we’ve been experiencing much that Portland has to offer, which has so far included trekking up to the falls outside of the city (awesome scenery, a world apart from Kentish Town Road), taking on the town’s live music scene, shooting some pool and nearly burning down the hotel with a surprise birthday cake for Keith.
But today we’ve barely had time to sit down, so we’re looking forward with relish to tonight’s planned steak dinner. There’s another day of the conference to look forward to tomorrow and then we’ll bid a fond farewell to Portland’s hospitality.
Well, these steaks aren’t going to eat themselves, so we’ll say bye for now and, in the words of one of the delegates, get down with your bad self.
